Fergus Thomas is a British documentary photographer and educator producing long-term projects and editorial commissions. His work explores humanity’s relationship to the natural world and combines rigorous documentary observation with ecological and poetic sensibilities.

Thomas earned a BA in Documentary Photography from the University of South Wales and an MA in Photography from the University of the West of England. His work has been exhibited across the UK and internationally. His photography has appeared in Granta, The Wall Street Journal, The Telegraph Magazine and the Western Mail and he has completed editorial and commissioned assignments for organisations including Four Paws International. He has received grants and awards from Arts Council Wales, the Welsh Government, and the Pulitzer Center. Thomas teaches photography and is available for editorial and commissioned work.
